Burke & Wills

This series of 12 large paintings depicts the ill fated expedition led by Robert O’Hara Burke in 1861.

Ranging from Royal Park, Melbourne to the Gulf of Carpentaria and back to the camp on Cooper Creek.  It is a highly emotional, between the lines encounter with Burke, Wills and King, drawn almost totally from the meticulous pages of Wills’ diary.

An extremely personal look at a sad period of Australian history.
